Margaret Ann Underwood, 74, of Fruita, Colorado, formerly of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on February 15, 2012 in Fruita, Colorado. She was born on January 29, 1938 in Coweta, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lonnie Stout and Dorothy (Stephens) Stout. She married James Underwood on March 5, 1959 in Claremore, Oklahoma. They moved to Chouteau, Oklahoma in 1969, living there until they moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1995. She moved to Fruita, Colorado in 2009 to be near her daughter. Margaret went to work for Wal-Mart when first opened in Pryor, retiring 21 years later. She enjoyed so many things in her life; gardening, sewing and crocheting to mention just a few. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, enjoying walking the beaches looking for seashells and rocks. She collected rocks from all her travels. Margaret loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a lovely lady who will live on in the memories of her family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Rick Davis officiating. She is survived by her children, Kirk Underwood and wife, Vicki of Pryor, OK, Teresa Manchester and husband, Larry of Grand Junction, CO and Deidre Savage and husband, William of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren; her brother, Lawrence Stout and wife, Sharon; her sisters, Barbara Conner and husband, Les and Kathy Arnold and husband, Larry; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Dorothy Stout; her husband, James Underwood; and an infant son.
