Marilou Young

Marilou Thelma Young, 75 of Spavinaw, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Spavinaw. She was born on February 11, 1941 in Mont Claire, New Jersey; the daughter of Walter and Sophia Marie (Meyer) Burgess. Marilou loved being outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, baking pies, riding motorcycles and her favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Marilou was involved in the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, previously on the council member election board of Spavinaw. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. She loved her family and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Graveside memorial service is February 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Spavinaw - Strang Cemetery. Marilou's last request is all who are attending her funeral to wear Dallas Cowboy colors. Marilou is survived by daughters, Sienna Sasser and husband Jerry of Spavinaw, LaDonna Hendrix and husband Casey of Cyprus, Texas; twin sister, Marilee Bearden of Carson, California; niece, Jeannette Bearden; nephews, David and Michael Bearden; 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Randy, Amber, Jennifer and Jacquelyn; 2 great grandchildren, William Hunter and Jose Adrian; boyfriend, Eddie Roberts of Spavinaw and many friends and adopted family members. She is reunited with her parents, Walter and Sophia Burgess and her son, Jeffrey Scott Bearden. In lieu of flowers donations are made to St Jude and Ronald McDonald House.
