Mario Gomez

Mario Gomez, 55, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on June 30, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mario was born in Abernathy, Texas, the son of Ronaldo Gomez and Aurora (Ortiz) Gomez. He married Florestina Chavez in Snyder, TX and they have spent over 20 years together. Mario enjoyed fishing, junking and fixing old cars.  He worked as a mechanic most of his life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Mario was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Shipman’s Funeral Chapel with Reverend Roger Parker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ross Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma with Sergio Guajardo, Daniel Eglian, Nick Thortan, Anthony Duverge, Mike Overton, and Jerry Tagg serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Mario is survived by his wife, Florestina Gomez of Pryor, OK; son, Sergio Guajardo of Pryor, OK; daughters, Selena Guajardo and Anthony Duverge of Pryor, OK and Stephanie Gomez and Daniel Eglian of Pryor, OK; brothers, Oscar Gomez of San Antonio, TX, Reynaldo Gomez and wife Elain of Austin, TX, and David Gomez of Snyder, TX; sisters, Nancy Castor and husband, Robert of San Antonio, TX, Olga Martinez-Gomez of Snyder, TX and Rosana Hernandez of Austin, TX; four grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronaldo and Aurora Gomez; one brother, Mingo Gomez; 3 grandchildren.
