Marion Richard

Marion Lee Richard, 70, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Tulsa. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Adair, Oklahoma; the son of Marion Edward and Virttrus (Osborn) Richard. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1965 until 1968 and worked as a Sergeant Electrical and Mechanic Repairman and continued to serve in the Army Reserves until retirement in 2007 at the rank of Sergeant Major. After being honorably discharged, Marion went to work for GRDA and worked as a Senior Substation Technician. He was active in the Gideon's for many years. Marion enjoyed the outdoors, going hunting and fishing and tending to his garden. He also enjoyed driving a school bus for Adair Public Schools. He was a member of the Utopia Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed attending church functions. Above all, Marion loved his family. He enjoyed every moment he had with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a loving grandfather to them all. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor with Reverend Randy Thorman officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be Marion's grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made the Clarehouse of Tulsa at 7617 S. Marion is survived by his daughter, Jessica Terry and husband Jamie of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Dean Richard of Adair, Oklahoma; sister, Maxine Scott and husband Junior of Adair, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Terry and wife Kali, Jeremy Terry and wife Aerial, and Jordan Terry; 3 great grandchildren, Hayden Terry, Stephen Terry, and Brynlee Terry; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Virttrus Richard, wife, Jacqueline Richard, and son, Marion Eugene Richard.
