Marlene Lindhorst, 85, a loving and caring woman, known for her delicious baking skills and friendly nature, passed away on June 7, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 30th, 1937 in Pryor, Oklahoma to William and Mary Alice Due. Marlene was a proud resident of Mayes County all her life. She worked hard as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician at Rae Manufacturing in the Mid America Industrial Park for over fifteen years. Her kind and generous attitude made her a favorite among her colleagues, and she cherished these friendships until her last breath. Marlene had a special relationship with her siblings and in the later years formed a special bond with her only remaining sibling, Maxine. They would enjoy many phone calls a day with each other. Maxine passed away within the same hour as her sister, Marlene.  In 1981, Marlene married Gus Lindhorst; he preceded her in death in 1998. Marlene's gentle nature extended into her passion for baking cakes and pies. She'd make delicious cakes anytime loved ones would come over or just out of nowhere to brighten their day. Her lemon and chocolate cakes were legendary among friends and family. Marlene loved children and spending time with them. She also enjoyed animals and nature. Her generosity knew no bounds; she'd often deliver freshly baked treats all over town to share with others.

Marlene is survived by her daughters, Carlene Petersen and husband Bob of Menlo Park, California and Tonya Cannon and husband Daryl of Wagoner, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Greg Woods of Owasso, Oklahoma, Dylan Cannon and wife Alexandra of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Brinley Cannon of College Station, Texas; great grandchildren, Grayson Woods, Grady Woods, and Emmy Woods; many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Luther and Mary Alice (Pemperton) Due; husband, Gus Lindhorst; and siblings, LE Due, Glen Due, Lonnie Due, Maxine Evans, Virginia Yoder, Carl Due, Don Due, Bill Due, Dwayne Due, Jewel Cox, Marion Weigart, and Aubrey Weigart.
