Marv P. Kennedy, 69, of Inola, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 23, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska; the son of Doyle and Florence (Hahn) Kennedy. Marv faithfully served his country in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, and received an honorable discharge in 1968. He married Linda Ramey on June 27, 1970 in Anaheim, California; and together raised 4 children. Marv was a fireman for many years with the Western Hills Fire Department in Greenley, Colorado and also with the Fire Department for Berthad, Colorado. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also was involved in his church and worked with the music ministry for 15 years at the Outreach Ministries in Colorado. Marv liked to spend time on the water, and to go swimming. He looked forward to family dinners every Sunday and spending time with those he loved most; his family. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cory Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Chouteau West Cemetery with Chris Kennedy, Tim Kennedy, Nathan Kennedy, J.R. Bond, Jason Bond, and Tyler Ray serving as casket bearers. Marv is survived by his wife, Linda Kennedy of the home; sons, Tim Kennedy of Inola, Oklahoma and Chris Kennedy of Eaton, Colorado; daughter, Jennifer Kennedy of Inola, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Florence Kennedy; daughter, Sandra Kennedy - Stertz, and grandsons, T.J. Hughes and Toby Lara.
