Marvin Ivor Shrader, age 60 of Pryor, Oklahoma was born on February 12th, 1954. He was the son of Eugene and Mary Alice Shrader. Marvin grew up in Tulsa, graduating from McClain High School in 1972. Marvin enlisted into the Army in 1972 as light weapons infantryman and achieved the rank of specialist E-4, and served in Germany until 1975. On October 16th, 1976 Marvin and Brenda (Rogers) Shrader were united in marriage at Kansas First Baptist in Kansas, Ok. Marvin worked at Miami Service Shop in Miami, Oklahoma from 1976-1979 and also worked at Gibbs Plumbing for several years. Marvin began working at Orchids Paper Products in January of 1979 making him an employee there for a little over 35 years. In 1981 Marvin and Brenda had their first son, Micah Sean Shrader, and in 1988 their second son, Cody Shane Shrader was born. Marvin had a great love for fishing. He loved fishing with friends, and his favorite fishing buddies were his sons and their friends. When not fishing Marvin loved watching the history channel and re-runs of Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and Cops. He also loved watching sports and would watch just about any sport on T.V. The thing that made Marvin the happiest was spending time with his grandchildren, Tarron Lunsford and Rylee and Parker Shrader. Whether they were playing outside together or inside on the couch napping, he was their Mar-Mar and they loved him to no end. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Welch - Prairie Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Billy Holman, Thomas Fisher, Travis Wolf, Butch Dobbs, Randy Gibbs, and Shea Tuller. Honorary casket bearers will be Steve Shrader, Kenny Shrader, Parker Shrader, Tarron Lunsford, Rylee Shrader. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2014 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Marvin is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; son Micah Shrader of Pryor; and son Cody and Beth Shrader of Pryor; grandchildren Tarron Lunsford of Claremore; and Rylee and Parker Shrader of Pryor; and three brothers Kenny Shrader of Cleora; Steve Shrader and wife Paula of Inola; and Teddy Paul Shrader of Vanburen, Ark.; and two sisters Tamara Pellegrom of Kenai, Alaska; and Alice Kay Horton of Vanburen, Ark. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Ethel Lee Rogers of Pryor, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Proceded in death by his parents Eugene and Mary Alice Shrader; Grandmother Selma Casey; and Father-in-law Howard Rogers.
