Mary Blair

Mary Agnes "DuPonte" Blair, 94, of Afton, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born June 2, 1923 in Newport, Rhode Island; the daughter of Cornelius and Honora (Crowley) Murphy. Mary married John DuPonte on June 10, 1944 in Newport, Rhode Island and together they had one daughter, Patricia (Patti). After her husband passed in 1976, she later remarried Robert Blair on February 14, 1984 and together they continued the love for their family. Mary worked for General Electric as an assembler. She loved crossword puzzles, bingo, bowling and was an active member of the Grove Uptown Girls. She lived a long, wonderful life, loved her family but especially loved her son n law, which she considered a son. She was always full of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Junior Mullin officiating. Burial will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the St. Columba's cemetery in Middletown, Rhode Island with, Manny DuPonte Jr., Ronnie DuPonte, Gary Behan, Ernest Souza, David Sousa, Michael DeCotis, John Murphy Jr., Thomas Mullin and Cody Blalock serving as Honorary Paul Bearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the Shipman' s Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor, Oklahoma. Mary "Agnes" is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Patti) Mullin and husband Jim of Afton, Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Loretta Elaine Hart of Fall River, Massachusetts, Anne Carr and husband Karl of Virginia Beach, Virginia; stepchildren of Bay City, Michigan, Annette, Robert, Penny, Karen, Bridgett, Mark and Diane; sisters, Paula Sousa of Rhode Island, Marion DeCotis of Rhode Island; grandchildren, Thomas Mullin and wife Vanessa of Afton, Oklahoma, Melissa Mullin of Ft Smith, Arkansas, great grandchildren, Paula Blalock of Oklahoma, Cody Blalock of Oklahoma and many other great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Honora Murphy; husbands, John DuPonte, Robert Blair; sisters, Catherine Behan, Irene Souza, Theresa DuPonte; brothers, Michael Murphy, John Murphy, William Murphy, Francis Murphy and Joseph Murphy; grandchild, Christina Mullin.
