Mary K. Boston

Mary Katharine Boston, a compassionate educator who dedicated her career to helping young minds succeed, has passed away at the age of 84. She was born on September 28th,1938 in small town Oklahoma to Rex and Katharine Falls.

Mary K graduated from Adair High School before earning her master's degree. She later moved to Huntington Beach, California and pursued a career as a high school teacher at Cerritos High School where she was beloved by many students and colleagues alike. Throughout her career, Mary K empowered countless students to achieve academic success.

Mary K passed away in Pella, Iowa on June 17th, 2023, due to natural causes. Her surviving family members include her daughter, Julie Collins and husband Dell of Pella, Iowa, daughter-in-law Barbara Boston; granddaughters, Katharine Collins of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Sara Collins of Pella, Iowa; and brother, Clinton Paul Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents Rex and Katharine, husband of 50 years Larry Alan Boston, and son Robert Alan Boston.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Adair Cemetery in Adair, Oklahoma. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. Mary K will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and dedication to education which touched the lives of so many. She will be missed by friends and family with whom she maintained close relationships until her passing through visits and phone conversations. May her memory live on through the countless students whose lives she impacted throughout her long and accomplished career as an educator.
