Mary Elizabeth Cartwright, 96, of Pryor, passed from this life on November 4, 2020 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was born on March 16, 1924 in Olive, Oklahoma; the daughter of Clyde and Melvina (Rusco) Gear. Mary was a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and genuinely loved her job and helping people. She married the love of her life, Mark Cartwright, on March 16, 1974 and they spent 41 years together before his passing in 2015. Mary was very involved in the Methodist Church and enjoyed attending and helping out with church events. She loved to be outside, especially gardening and bird watching. She also enjoyed sewing and ceramics in her free time. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish.
Graveside services for Mary will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jerold Pilant officiating. Mary is survived by her stepchildren, John Cartwright, Craig Cartwright, Christopher Cartwright, and Cynthia Wilson; sister, Zola Oster; son-in-law, Kenneth Johnson; grandchildren, Duane and Robyn; step grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah, Aaron, John, Samuel and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Ashley, Asia, Ayla, Tehya, Alexandria, Amanda, Gracie, Darren, Kendell, Kade, Braylon, Lane, Kaylee and Rhyan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Melvina; husband, Mark; daughter, Coba Mae Johnson; stepdaughter, Carla Cartwright; step grandchild, Brandy; brothers, James Gear, Cecil Gear and Robert Gear; sisters, Henrietta Miller, Vida Smith, and Opal Gray.
