Mary Grant

Mary Ann Grant, 73, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 29, 1940; the daughter of Bert and Polly (Buck) Spade. Mary Ann worked as a CHR worker at Cherokee Nation and Cherokee EMS. She had many talents, especially when it came to beading, jewelry making and weaving baskets. She loved to make fry bread and held dinners for the elders for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Mary Ann was also an OU sports fan and would always cheer them on, no matter which sport it was. She also had a love for the outdoors and looked forward to going camping and traveling. She was a member of the New Jordan Baptist Church for many years. Above all, Mary Ann loved her family and cherished each moment she had to spend with them. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Mary Ann will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in the Euwasha Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Bowline officiating. Interment will be in the Euwasha Cemetery with Sonny Billey, Lance Deere, Austin Grant, Jesse Grant, Delrey Gokey, and Michael Roybal serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be James Deere, Jr., Ronnie Grant, Donovan Smoke, and Raven Smoke. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Mary Ann is survived by her sons, Jesse and wife Shelly Grant of Pryor, Oklahoma and Delrey and wife Penny Gokey of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, Eliza Deere and husband James of Kansas, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Grant, her parents, Bert and Polly Spade, son, Ronnie"Flappy" Grant, daughter, Polly Edens, 3 brothers and 1 grandchild.
