Mary Young

Mary Ellen Young, 70, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 26, 1941 in Salina, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jess Young and Nancy (Thompson) Young. She enjoyed going to yard sales and playing Bingo. Mary also enjoyed sewing. She especially loved her children and attending the grandchildren's ballgames. Mary enjoyed the quiet times just sitting ourside watching everything in a chair on the porch. She was a wonderful cook, baking pies, making chicken and dumplings or anything her kids or grandchildren wanted. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service for Mary will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October, 8, 2011 in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel in Pryor, Oklahoma. She is survived by her son, Johnny and wife, Arlene Smith of Pryor, OK; her daughters, Glenda Smith of Claremore, OK, Cathy Smith of Pryor, OK, Joy Smith of Tahlequah, OK and Leslie Andreasen and husband, Matthew of Ketchikan, AK; her brothers, Jerry Young and wife, Cathy of Salina, OK and Jimmy Young and wife, Virginia of Spavinaw, OK; her sisters, Ellen Ellison of Claremore, OK, Jessie Bias of Oakhurst, OK; sister-in-law, Betty Young of Moore, OK; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Nancy Young; brothers, Melvin, J.E. and Floyd Young; sister, Linda McGlothlin; great granddaughter, Faith Taylor.
