Melba Thomas

Melba June Thomas, 64, of Tulsa, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on July 19, 1949 in Parnell, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Miller and Mayetta Francis Frump. Melba married Jerry Thomas on August 5, 1966 in the Southeast Baptist Church in Tulsa. She was a homemaker, where she lovingly raised her two sons and daughter. Melba was very involved with her church, where she had taught Sunday school for 47 years, she always loved her Sunday school children as if they were her own. Melba especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with each and every one of them. She was a wonderful, caring woman who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Melba will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Southeast Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Reverend Ival Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Aaron Warnock, Terry Williams, Daniel Miller, Eric Miller and Todd Miller Serving as Casket Bearers. Melba is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Thomas, of the home; 2 sons, Tim and wife Janell Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Toby Thomas of Seattle, Washington; 1 daughter Tracey and husband Donald Warnock of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her mother, Mayetta Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 3 brothers, Larry Miller of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Olin Miller of Dallas, Texas and Terry Miller of Dallas, Texas; 1 sister, Twyla Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, Whitney, Aaron, Allyson, Brooklyn, Tanner, Paige, Kaitlyn, Rachel, and Travis; 5 great grand children, Ean, Ella, Emma, Paizley, and Easton; Melba is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
