Melissa Rowena Price, 53, of Salina, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on February 24, 1966 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the daughter of Charles and Minnie Pearl (Wolfe) Price. Melissa worked as an assistant teacher at Cherokee Nation Headstart and various other jobs around Mayes County. Melissa attended the Coo-Y-Yah Baptist church in Pryor. She enjoyed the outdoors; especially fishing and camping. She loved watching Christmas movies no matter the time of year. Her favorite times were spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Funeral services for Melissa will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chester Crittenden officiating. Burial will be in the Sycamore Springs Cemetery with Charles Milam Burrow, Cory Lee Burrow, Bub Price, Brownie Price, Dion Price, and Frank Burrow serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Melissa is survived by her parents, Charles and Minnie Price of Pryor, Oklahoma; sons, Charles “Chooga” Milam Burrow of Salina, Oklahoma and Cory Burrow of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Shandron Burrow and wife Angela Marie of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, Sequoiah “Bub” Price of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Brian Durant Price of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Eldon Price of Lafayette, Indiana; 6 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
