Melissa Walden

Melissa Leann Walden, 31, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born on February 5, 1982 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard and Jerri (Austin) Swinney. She married Mark Walden on December 22, 2001 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Melissa was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor, Oklahoma. Melissa loved life so much. She fought Diabetes from the age of 8, developing renal failure at age 28, having several heart attacks over the past two years. She always had a smile on her face and something smart to say. She doesn't have to fight any more because she has been called home to be with her Lord. A lovely young woman who leaves many wonderful memories for her family and friends to cherish. Funeral Services for Melissa will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor with Reverend Junior Mullin officiating. Interment will follow in the Lone Chapel Cemetery with Rick Swinney, Ray Swinney, William Walden, Bud Blalock, Cody Miller and Lotton Hicks serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her husband, Mark of the home; sons, Jorden Hunter Ray Walden, Caleb Walden, Dustin Walden and William Walden of the home; parents, Richard and Jerri Swinney of Claremore, OK; Maternal grandparents, Cecil and Jo Ann Austin; brothers, Rick Swinney and wife, Jennifer of Claremore, OK and Ray Swinney and wife, Crystal of Foyil. OK; sisters, Shannon Brumley and Robin Ann Wilkerson; sister-in-laws, Gwen Coker, Marlene and husband, Jason Maupin; nieces and nephews, Megan Swinney, Kaylee Swinney, Austin Swinney, Gregg Wilkerson, Mary Wilkerson, Corky Brumly, Brittany Simpson, Mathew Simpson and Ricky Swinney; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Richard Swinney and Christine Swinney Anderson.
