Michael Blundell

Michael Blundell, 76, of Tulsa, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 in Tulsa. He was born on August 17, 1942 in Jacksonville, Texas; the son of Patrick and Barbara (Rolley) Blundell. Michael faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps from March 9, 1961 until March 31, 1993. He served two tours in Vietnam and earned the rank of Master Sergeant. During his time in the Marines, he earned many decorations, medals, citations and ribbons. Michael worked within the Marine Corps as a Radio Communications specialist, and after his first retirement, taught other marines radio communications skills, until his second retirement. He married Pamela Brown on June 1, 1999 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Michael enjoyed woodworking, gardening and cooking. He also enjoyed watching football on television, especially college teams. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2019 in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with full military honors being presented. Michael is survived by his wife, Pamela Blundell of the home; sons, Michael Blundell of California; step daughter, Allyson Baxter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Frances White of Texas, and Josephine Stone of Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Jordan Francis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joseph Francis of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Laura Blundell of California; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Barbara Blundell, step daughter, Angela Brown, and sister, Jeanne Hess.
