Mildred Large

Mildred May Large, 70, of Verdigris, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 29, 1947 in Tehachapi, California; the daughter of Marvin "Tom" and Dorothy (Butler) Peters. Mildred was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially when she was able to work in her garden. Mildred loved her family and cherished each moment she had to spend with her children and grandchildren. She loved to attend family gatherings and storytelling. Mildred was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Verdigris. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Baumert officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with Aarron Large, Anthony Large, Stenton Thompson, Matthew Salcido, Mike Peters, and Jase Large serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Jarrett Large. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Mildred is survived by her sons, Scott Large and wife Karla of Humble, Texas and Jason Large and wife Mandy of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Tammy Salcido and husband Ernest of Verdigris, Oklahoma; brother, Tommy Peters of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Dorothy Peters; husband, Ray Large, grandchild, Amber Mae Wiley, and brother, Frankie Peters.
