Modest Barnes

Modest Maxine Barnes was born on April 14, 1918 in Pryor, Oklahoma to John Qualls Kilby (Odle) Qualls. She passed away on July 20, 2009 in Pryor, Oklahoma at the age of 91. She was a lifelong resident of Pryor. Modest was former Nursery Worker at the Whitaker State Childrené��â‚â„�s Home, and also worked as a Grandmother at the Chouteau Grade School. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and being with her family. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 24, 2009 in the Shipmané��â‚â„�s Funeral Home Chapel of Pryor. Reverend Rob Pierce will officiate and burial will follow the Bryan Chapel Cemetery at Boatman, Oklahoma. Her step-children: Floyd Barnes of Georgia, Junior Barnes of Grove, OK, Barney Barnes Jr. of Eucha, OK, Bethel Goins of Jay, OK, Debbie Barnhart of Grove, OK; 10-Grandchildren; 21-Great Grandchildren; 8-Great Great Grandchildren; 1-Sister, Pearl Charles of Pryor, OK. She was preceded in death by: 4-Brothers: Frank, Elmer, Carl Dick Qualls. 2-Sisters: Bessie Floyd Bernice Fields her parents.
