Nancy Buckskin, 85, of Kenwood, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home. She was born on July 1, 1936 in Moody, Oklahoma; the daughter of Dossie Davis and Polly Johnson. She enjoyed attending gospel singings with her family and singing with the Glory Road group. She was a wonderful cook and was well known for cooking at the Kenwood Community Center with her daughter Sherry for many years. She loved spending time with her family, making pies, watching sports, especially OU, and could sit, talk, and share stories in Cherokee with her sister for hours. Most of all, she loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She brought a great amount of joy to those around her and leaves behind many memories for all to cherish.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kenwood with Reverend Buddy Ross officiating. Burial will take place at the Euwasha Cemetery with Bradley Phillips, Josh Hansen, Danny Joe Fisher, Ben Backwater, Darrin Budder, and Dale Scott serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Gerald Sapp, Greg Backwater, and all of her grandsons and great grandsons. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by her daughters, Tyra Buckskin of the home, and Doris Kirby and husband Steve of Kenwood, Oklahoma; her son Dennis Phillips of Kenwood; and her sister, LouAnn Scott and husband Robert of Kenwood; 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mixwater; sons, Steven and DeWayne Phillips; daughter, Sherry Phillips; grandsons, Ryan and Stephen Phillips; and great grandson, Gunner Hansen.
