Nancy Adaleen Starks, 77, of Chouteau, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 in Salina, Oklahoma. She was born on June 7, 1945 in Vinita, Oklahoma; the daughter of Quentin and Pauline (Simms) Poe. She was a lifelong resident of Mayes County and graduated from Pryor high school with the class of 1963. She attended the University of Oklahoma and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1967. She was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. After graduation, she married Victor J. Starks and moved to California where he was stationed in the Navy. Together they had one child, a daughter, Vicki Starks Frausto. She lived in various places throughout the years including, California, Idaho, Connecticut, and Maryland. They then moved to Houston and Lake Jackson, Texas. Nancy was well accomplished. She worked in the home most of her life and enjoyed baking, knitting, and crocheting, as well as playing duplicate bridge and was a Gold Star Lifemaster. She leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Vicki Frausto of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandchildren, Bear Frausto and Carlina, Victor Frausto and wife Becca; Emily Frausto and John; Diego Frausto and Max Frausto; brother, John Q. Poe, Jr.; sister, Janet Gaiche and husband Bill of Chouteau, Oklahoma; niece, Natalea Christie and husband Mike; nephews, James Poe and wife Heather; and Clint Ingram and wife Jessica; great nieces Ashly Poe and Magdalena Grossman; great nephews, Quentin Poe, Matthew Poe, and Oliver Poe. She is preceded in death by her parents, Quentin and Paulina Poe; husband of 32 years, Victor Starks; father-in-law, Roy Starks and mother-in-law, Marguerite Starks; and son-in-law, JR Frausto.
