February 3, 1950 — July 25, 2021

Nelson S. Chupp, 71, of Chouteau, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on February 3, 1950 in Bremen, Indiana; the son of Samuel Chupp and Barbara (Bontrager) Chupp. He attended school in Breman until he was 9 years old. Nelson married the love of his life, Martha Detweiler, at her home place in Inola, Oklahoma, on October 30, 1969. Together, they had 4 children: Keith, Jeanie, Joanne, and Barbara Sue. For most of his life, Nelson was a farmer and dairyman. He was a member of Zion Mennonite Church for many years and taught the married couples Sunday School class as well as volunteered with their Prison Ministries program. Before being disabled, Nelson enjoyed coyote hunting and fishing. For several years, he also was a taxi driver for the Amish community. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed but leaves behind many wonderful memories for his family to cherish.
