Nina Harrison

Nina Harrison, a longtime resident of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, November 12. She was born on July 25, 1927, to Harold Whitehead and Mary Ellen Walker Whitehead. She was married for 51 years to Robert L. Harrison, who died in 1998. Nina was a church secretary for 32 years and served in the second grade Sunday School class for 57 years. For many years she was active in candle making and other crafts and co-hosted the Fall Craft Bazaar, which was often held at The Buggy Shed. Nina enjoyed many long-term friendships, including those in the Lunch Bunch. She also served several years as an election official. Funeral Services for Nina will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Life Fellowship Church with Reverend Scott Neighbors and Josh McClellan officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Pryor with Bill Peters, Tom Couch, Roy Patton, David Steddum, Carol Stone and Ivan Pace serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer is Frank Pierce. The family asks memorials be made to the Owasso Baptist Children's Home or to The Gideons. She is survived by her two children, Mary Ellen Fuquay of St. Louis, MO, and David and Rita Harrison of Pryor, OK; grandchildren Donny and Betty Childers, Amy Fuquay, Alicia and Scott Wassom, and Kathryn Fuquay; great-grandchildren Madyson Neel, Jesse Fuquay, Kallie Childers, and Sophie Wassom; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
