Ola Mae Burns, 72, of Chouteau, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. She was born on September 30, 1948 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas; the daughter of Roy Lee and Vernie Ola (Bowerman) Cleveland. Ola married Robert (Bob) Burns on December 31, 1970. They worked together, dairy farming, on their family land in the Chouteau – Mazie area for over 40 years. She then went to work for a convenience store in Chouteau for over 11 years. Ola enjoyed visiting with the customers and meeting new people. Ola enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard. She had a special love for her dogs, Minnie and Rusty. Ola looked forward to spending time with her family and cherished each moment she had with them. She was well loved, and will equally be well missed.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the Oaks Cemetery in Oaks, Oklahoma. Honorary casket bearers will be Scott Wassom, Jeremy Wassom, Matthew Fultz, Adam Fultz, Dean Kirk, Eugene Kirk, and Charles Marquart. No visitation will be held. Ola is survived by her step-daughter, Robbie Wassom and husband Jerry of Chouteau, Oklahoma; step – son, Bobby Burns of Owasso, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Baker and husband Joe of Bella Vista, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Burns, her parents, Roy and Vernie Cleveland; 2 brothers, and 6 sisters.
