Oleta Gordon

Oleta Arlene Swartsfager ~ Gordon 86, of Pryor passed away August 23, 2016 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on September 11, 1929 in Chelsea Oklahoma the daughter of Earl and Iva (Lawhorn) Jacobs. On December 31, 1946 at the age of 17 she married James M. Swartsfager in Nowata, Oklahoma. They lived a happy life of 30 years of marriage and in that 30 years they had a beautiful daughter, Beverly Swartsfager. Her husband passed away on October 20, 1976. She was a member of the First Free Well Baptist Church in Pryor, Ok. Arlene loved her church family, they brought a great amount of joy to her life and she enjoyed attending services and church events. Arlene loved to sew and she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having family over to spend time with them. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and leaves behind a legacy for them all to cherish. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a blessing to all who knew and loved her. Arlene remarried on November 28, 1989 to Eugene Gordon in Pryor, Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Kerr and Bobby of Adair; 2 grandsons, Kevin and wife Bobbi Jo Kerr of Skiatook, Ok., Jeffrey and wife Marla Kerr of Adair, Ok., 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband James M. Swartsfager and her second husband, Eugene Gordon; brother, Lloyd Jacobs; sisters, Alpha Parker, Ramona England, Helen Richards and Loretta Welker; parents, Earl and Iva Jacobs.
