Opal Alice Schroeder, 96, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. She was born on July 25, 1918, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Floyd and Jenny Briggs. She married Carl Schroeder in 1947 and had celebrated over 50 years of marriage. She spent her life making a wonderful home for her family. Opal was a wonderful cook, especially her fried chicken and roast beef were a couple of many favorites. She loved to fish with her husband and spend time treasure hunting wherever she happen to be. Opal enjoyed painting, floral and landscapes were favorites. She was a lovely lady of faith who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Lawrence officiating. A private interment will be in the Eden Mennonite Cemetery at Inola following the service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening. She is survived by her son, Roger and wife, Gwyn Schroeder of Inola, OK; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Schroeder; one son, Rusty Schroeder; her parents, Floyd and Jenny Briggs; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
