Ornell Horton

Ornell Rose Horton, 85, of Langley, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Salina, Oklahoma. She was born on March 7, 1937 in Denver, Colorado; the daughter of Ira Clarence Orrin Bronson and Emma Rose (Beilhartz) Bronson. She lived in the Colorado area most of her life, and worked as a Clerk in the Truck Stop in Palisade, Colorado for many years. She also ran her families Trailer Court and worked in administration in the Denver area. Ornell enjoyed boating, traveling, elk hunting, and hosting family barbeque es and gatherings. She loved playing Canasta at family get togethers and made sure all of her kids and grandkids knew how to play. She also looked forward to tending to her flowers and gardening. Ornell was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish. Her family loved her deeply and she will be dearly missed.

Ornell is survived by her children, Emma Davine Hair of Splendora, Texas, Shawn Powell of Alaska, Todd Powell of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and Tara Powell of Adair, Oklahoma; sister, Joan “Jody” Romisch of Bend, Oregon; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Emma Bronson; husbands, Charles Horton and David Powell; daughter, Crystal Roseanne Powell; son, David Powell, Jr; brother, William Clarence Bronson; and son-in-law, Charlie Hair.
