Patsy Pauline (Griggs) Shrum, 89, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 in Salina, Oklahoma. She was born on September 13, 1932 in the Boatman area; the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Nichols) Griggs. Patsy attended and graduated from Pryor High School. She married Oman Shrum, at the age of 18, on September 22, 1950 and they spent 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. Patsy worked in the home, raising their 3 boys, Terry, Mike, and Jeff. She looked forward to going to her children and grandchildren’s ballgames and school events when she was able. Throughout her earlier years she enjoyed bowling and going to church services until her health declined. She also loved tending to her roses and gardening. Patsy was a sports fan and loved watching OU Football and Softball and also the Texas Rangers. She leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. Come and Go visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Patsy is survived by her sons, Terry Shrum and wife Marianne of Pryor, Oklahoma, Mike Shrum and wife LaQuita of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Jeff Shrum of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brett Shrum and wife Hallye, Brooke Young and husband B.K., and Brittany Turner and husband Glen; great grandchildren, Kade, Karsyn, Lilly, Luke, Parker, and Hudson; brother, Jim Griggs and wife Linda of Kennesaw, Georgia; sisters, Shirley Willis of Beaumont, Texas and Brenda Risner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bertha Griggs; and her husband, Oman Shrum.
