Paul Hillis Baker, Sr., 79, of Locust Grove, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He was born on August 18, 1942 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of Arthur Guy Baker and Hazel Irene Baker. Paul graduated from Central High School and went on to be a truck driver for Yellow Freight. Paul was married to Barbara (Rupe) Baker for over 40 years until her passing in 2006 and together they had 5 children: Paul, Beverly, Debra, Kimberly, and Tammy. In 2019, he married Deborah Brewer and they have spent the last few years together. Paul enjoyed watching sports, grilling, and doing yardwork. He was very opinionated, and if he thought it, he said it out loud. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Paul will be so dearly missed, and never forgotten.
Graveside services for Paul will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Hogan Cemetery with Pastor Sam Wilson officiating. Casket bearers will be Brad Uhl, Jeremy Uhl, Joe Uhl, LC Sinor, Cody Cisper, Kyle Cisper, Michel Stone, Ryan Lemmings, Paul Baker III, and Dylan Baker. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2021, at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Paul is survived by his wife, Debbie, of the home; son, Paul Baker Jr. and wife Kristi of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughters, Beverly Uhl of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Debra Baker of Pryor, Oklahoma, Kimberly Cisper and husband Clint of Peggs, Oklahoma, and Tammy Lemmings and husband Steve of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; brother, Kenneth Baker and wife Melinda of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sister, Martha Garrison of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren with one more on the way; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Hazel; wife, Barbara Joyce Baker; and sister, Linda
