Paula Jo Anderson, 44, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on May 13, 1971 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the daughter of Gerald and Carolyn (Davis) Blackbear. Paula loved to sing gospel music in church and attended Ribbon Baptist Church for 32 years; she also enjoyed playing guitar, bass guitar and was currently learning how to play the piano. After leaving Ribbon Baptist Church, she became a member at the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor and played in the worship band. Paula looked forward to celebrating family member's birthdays and special events and cherished each moment she had to spend with them. We can proudly say that Paula made a lasting impression on everyone she met by her charm, which was only surpassed by the size of her heart. Her kindness and zest for life are what her family and friends will remember most. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor with Reverend Bill Drywater officiating. Interment will be in the Round Springs Cemetery in Eucha with Mark Eubanks, Jack Stites, Cooper Lyman, Brian Soldier, Thomas Kingfisher, and Daryl King serving as casket bearers. The Wake service for Paula will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Paula is survived by her husband, Billy Anderson of the home; mother, Carolyn Blackbear of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Brian Blackbear of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; sisters, Charlena Blackbear of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Anita and husband Omar Pedroza of Rogers, Arkansas, and Amy Blackbear of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Tegan, Kyler, Jorey, Ryan, Samuel, Nayeli, Darian, Bailey, and Jared; special friend, June Handshy - Malin; mother in law, Beverly Anderson - John of Pryor, Oklahoma; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Blackbear, and maternal grandparents, Rachel and Charley Davis; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Blackbear.
