Peggy Louise Currey

March 18, 1938 — November 24, 2024

Pryor

Peggy Louise Currey, 86, of Farmington, Arkansas, formerly of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born on March 18, 1938, Peggy grew up in Pryor, Oklahoma, where her strong work ethic and selfless devotion to family began at an early age. These convictions were rooted in her decision to believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized at an early age. After graduating from high school, she started her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to excellence in every role she undertook. On August 2, 1958, Peggy married the love of her life, Johnny Currey, in Pryor, Oklahoma. Together, they moved to Tulsa, where Peggy began working as a seamstress in Sears’ Custom Drapery Workroom. Her skill and dedication led to a 40-year career with Sears, during which she held various positions and earned numerous sales achievements and customer service awards. Beyond her professional achievements, Peggy’s life was a testament to love and sacrifice. From an early age, she shouldered much of the responsibility of caring for her siblings, often placing their needs above her own. As a wife and mother, Peggy continued this legacy, devoting herself fully to her family. She unwaveringly supported her husband’s and daughters’ ambitions, ensuring they had every opportunity to succeed in their pursuits. She was a faithful cheerleader for many family members, frequently found on the sidelines showing encouragement and support. Her quiet strength, nurturing spirit, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones will be remembered always. Her warmth, wisdom, and devotion will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
