Phyllis Mae Due, 81, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born on October 10, 1939 in Strang, Oklahoma; the daughter of Raymond and Iva Mae (Elrod) Jones. She married the love of her life, Billy Ray Due, on June 22, 1957 and they have celebrated 63 years of marriage. After they got married, they moved out West for 15 years in Arizona and Utah, while Billy worked for IBEW. They moved back to the Mayes County area in 1975. Phyllis worked at Fabricut for many years, after retirement, she became a homemaker, raising 6 children and tending to their needs, always making sure they were well taken care of. She looked forward to having Sunday dinners and spending time with her family. She especially looked forward to all things that involved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis loved to sew and would make each grandchild and great grandchildren baby blankets. She was so proud of being able to make the blankets for them. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and always enjoyed tending to her flowers and vegetables and canned what she gardened. Phyllis loved to shop and go to garage sales. She was a joyful person and was always smiling and joking. Phyllis leaves many beautiful memories for her family to cherish.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020 in the Pryor Church of Christ with Brother Tom Coats officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Colton Due, Raymond Due, Becky Hulse, Jacob Littlefield, James Dixon, Trevor Tunnell, and Dustin Finney serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Billy Due of the home; son, Danny Due of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Sissy Hulse and husband John of Pryor, Oklahoma and Lori DeSautell and husband Denny of Pryor, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Iva Jones; sons, Allen Due and Billy Wayne Due; daughter, Patty Clawson; grandson, Billy Clawson; brother, Cullus Jones; and sister, Carol Surritte.
