Ray Hammontree

Ray Martin Hammontree, 78, of Inola, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1937 in Costa Mesa, California, the son of Robert Hammontree and Fannie Bell (Ormsby) Hammontree. Ray faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. Ray retired with a perfect driving record from Sun Oil Company. He enjoyed being outdoors, farming and watching wildlife, especially deer and turkey. Ray was a good man who loved God and Country. That legacy lives on in the heart and memory of family and friends. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Highland Cemetery at Inola, Oklahoma. He is survived by his daughter, Candea Chill; grandsons, Derrick Chill, Farin Ray Chill, and Frankie Chill; four great grandchildren, Aubry, Gage, Ruby Lu and Lucy Lu; sisters, Joyce Dapron and Verla Harvey; nieces and nephews, Linda and husband, Bill Stawney, Chris and wife, Ashley Haefner and Michael Haefner; special friends, Ramona and John Roberson; his friend and nurse, Lisa Ash of Carter Healthcare; many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents, Robert and Fannie Bell Hammontree .
