Ray Aaron Sandusky, 96, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on November 22, 2018 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on February 19, 1922 in Benton County, Arkansas, the son of Frank Sandusky and Madge (Gingrich) Sandusky. Ray faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. He moved to Pryor in 1939 from Gentry, Arkansas and made his home here. Ray married Effie Opal Smith on July 7, 1942 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 2014. Ray was a member of the North Elliott Church of God. He loved his church and church family. He hardly ever missed a church service. He enjoyed having breakfast with the church men on Tuesdays. Ray always loved praying, worshiping and singing hymns to is beloved Savior. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed every minute with each of them, especially eating time. Ray loved to watch anything about his President Donald Trump. He was a true patriot, a faithful man who loved his Lord, his Family and his Country. He leaves many wonderful memories for all his family and friends to cherish until we meet again.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., in the North Elliott Church of God with Reverend Joey Turman officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Aaron McFarland, David McFarland, Ray Miller III, Dakota Cox, Mike Sills and Eric Tubbs. Honorary Casket Bearers are Sam Stamps, Montana Cox, John Flud, Paul McFarland and Allen Dale McClung. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening for visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Beth Stamps and husband Watts of Pryor, Oklahoma and Raydeen and husband, Dale McFarland of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Sam Stamps and wife Kathy, Cindy Tubbs and husband Eric, Aaron McFarland and wife Kristian, David McFarland and wife Linda, Paul McFarland and wife Melissa and Lisa Sills and husband Mike; fourteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; many other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie; one sister, Florence; three brothers, Homer, Carl and Chester Sandusky.
