Ray "Choogie" Alan King, 53, of Salina, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Pryor. He was born on October 20, 1967 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Roy Alvin and Marjorie (Silversmith) King. He worked at the Orchid Paper Company for several years as well as Las Fuentes for a number of years. Ray loved to spend time outdoors and going fishing and hunting when he was able. He looked forward to family gatherings and to spend time with those he loved most. He loved to listen and give advice to his family and friends. Ray was a wonderful son, father, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ray is survived by his parents, Roy Alvin and Marjorie King of Salina, Oklahoma; son, Jeremiah King of Oaks, Oklahoma; sister, Charlotte Abbs and husband Eric of Kenwood, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews with whom he had a special relationship with; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Silversmith and his paternal grandparents, Wesley and Susanna King.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Euwasha Cemetery with Billy Carnes, Nate Carnes, Tim King, Jonathan Testerman, Joseph Sapiel, and Linwood Sapiel serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Shipman’s Funeral Home.
