Raymond Arthur Shrum, Sr., 72, of Pryor, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on June 25, 1943 in Lonora, Oklahoma; the son of Edgar and Betty Jo (Jones) Shrum. He married Darlene Ketterman on September 27, 1963 in Beaver, Oklahoma. Raymond worked as a millwright most of his life for Alleghany Ludlum Steel and retired from there. He loved to watch Westerns. Raymond enjoyed spending time outdoors, going to the lake, fishing and hunting. He had a special love for cars and working and tinkering with them. Above all, Raymond loved his family. He cherished each moment he had to spend with them and his dog, Annie. He was a wonderful provider and hard working man for his family. Visitation services will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Dykes officiating. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Shrum of the home; son, Sonny Shrum and wife Jackie of Perry, New York; daughters, Rebecca Kemp and husband Mark of Pryor, Oklahoma and Marcena Blackwell and husband Scott of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, Hank Shrum and wife Wanda of Austin, Texas, Floyd Shrum and wife Bambi of Blytheville, Arkansas, Chuck Shrum and wife Roseanne of Joplin, Missouri, Elvis Shrum and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Tommy Shrum and wife Marie of Forgan, Oklahoma; sisters, Louise Coleman and husband Jerry of Greenfield, Missouri, Sue Kerr of Miami, Oklahoma, and Wanda Hecht of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Bailey Shrum, Chelsea Shrum, Kayla Hill and husband Caleb and Kortney Bacon and husband Miles; 2 great grandchildren, Ryleigh Hill and Raigen Hill; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Betty Jo Shrum; brothers, Robert Shrum, Lloyd Shrum, Irven Shrum, and Jimmy Shrum and sisters, Willa Ullrich and Anna Huckins.
