Recil Eugene Moan, 98, of Chouteau, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 in Tulsa. He was born on August 20, 1920 in Hennessey, Oklahoma; the son of Charles and Hazel Moan. Recil faithfully served his country in the United States Navy from 1939 until 1945 and was assigned the task the Chief Pharmacist’s Mate. On December 13, 1944, Recil married the love of his life, Lenora, in Pryor and, until his death, were married for 73 wonderful years. He worked as a Pharmacist and was a member of the Oklahoma Pharmacy Association. He also was an active member of the NARFE, VFW, and the American Legion in Pryor. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish.

Recil is survived by his wife, Lenora Moan of the home; daughter, Carol Jean VonHolten of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, David Watson and Carrie Brinkley; and 3 great grandchildren, Ian Watson, Alexandria Autrey, and Emma Watson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hazel Moan; brothers, Richard and Ray Moan; and an infant sister.
