Richard "Bear" Soldier, 80, of Salina, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 in Pryor. He was born on February 28, 1936 to William and Sallie (Tanner)
Soldier. He enjoyed working on cars, lawn mowers and whatever else he thought he could fix. Bear worked for the county under Melvin Pritchett. His favorite pastime was sitting on the porch drinking coffee with his brothers. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 in the Blue Springs Church in Salina, OK., with Reverend Bridge Chuckluck and Russell Feeling officiating. Burial will follow in the Grass Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2016 in the Shipman's Chapel. He is survived by one daughter; Tonya Buffington of Kenwood; 2 brothers, William Jr. Soldier of Salina, Robert "Gene" Soldier of Salina; 2 sisters, Lorene Rogers and husband Bob of Keys, OK., Mary Simon and husband Jim of Chouteau, OK., many nieces, nephews and a host friends. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Sallie Soldier and brother, Donald and sisters Mable and Flora.
