Richard Russell Weaver, 81, of Adair, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 18, 1941 in Missoula, Montana; the son of Darrel and Lucille (Harrison) Weaver. Richard faithfully served his country in the United States Army from August 8, 1963 until June 22, 1965. He has lived in the Adair area for the last two years, coming from Deer Lodge, Montana, where he was a member of the Free Masons, Shriners, served in Jackson, Montana as Deputy Sheriff, a member of the VFW, and Boy Scouts and Eagle Scout Master. Richard loved metal fabrication, wood working, and remodeling. He was an all-around handyman, and spent his summers building fences and cutting timber. In his later years, he became a very devout Christian who loved to go to Church and loved Jesus. Richard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in Adair. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hope Pregnancy Center in Pryor at maybepregnant.org or to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital at donate.lovetotherescue.org/
Richard is survived by his son, Russ Weaver of Adair, Oklahoma; daughters, Sheri Blake and husband Dan of Adair, Oklahoma, Jody Panattoni and husband Robin of Thompson Falls, Montana, and Shelly Lindsay and husband Ethan of Helena, Montana; brother, Ray Weaver and wife Gloria of Wisdom, Montana; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Darrel Weaver; mother, Lucille (Harrison) Novich and her husband Dan, and brother, Gaylord Weaver.
