Robert Miller

Robert "Buddy" Wayne Miller, 79, of Pryor, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born on September 3, 1934 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of Tip and Bettinia (Eldridge) Miller. Buddy married Rose Leona Scott, having two children born to this union, Debbie & Bobby. He went to work for Georgia Pacific after graduating from Pryor High School in 1954. Buddy was drafted in 1957, faithfully serving his Country in the United States Army. He returned to work for Georgia Pacific after his returning home, where he retired in 1995 after 42 years. After retirement, Buddy enjoyed going golfing. He always enjoyed visiting with his buddies and telling stories. Buddy dearly loved his family, especially his grandsons, Gabriel, Nathan and Bedford. He enjoyed teaching them to play the game of golf, which he loved so much. He cherished each moment he had to spend with them. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Bob Howell officiating. Private family interment will occur in the Ross - Mayes Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel. Honorary casket bearers are Johnny Davidson, Verl Palmer, Stan Lee, Gabriel Ward, Nathan Ward and Bedford Ward. The family asks memorials be made to: Memorial Heights Baptist Church, 1500 West Will Rogers Blvd., Claremore, OK 74017 to their Building Fund in Buddy's memory. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie and husband Joel Ward of Claremore, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Gabriel Ward, Nathan Ward, and Bedford Ward of Claremore, Oklahoma; and 1 sister, Jessie Fryer of Tucson, Arizona; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Miller and his parents, Tip and Bettinia Miller.
