Robert Morgan

Robert "Bob" Eugene Morgan, 86, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on September 30, 1930 in Orville, Indiana; the son of Albert Edison and Clara Arietta (Straw) Morgan. Before Bob left and went to service he was a driver for Pepsi Cola and worked on Steckler Farms in Orville, Indiana. Bob then left Indiana and faithfully served his country for 22 ½ years in the United States Air force and was a Tsgt for 6year. In August 1952, he married the love of his life, Betty Bailey and they lived happily for 64 years. Together they had four children, which he loved them with all his heart. He was a Shiner for 42 years and was in a bowling league. Bob worked hard all of his life for his family, he worked for Chevrolet Garage for many years then went to work for Montgomery Ward's till they shut down and then retired from Wal-mart after working for them for 25 years as a mechanic. In his spare time he looked forward every year to hunting season because he would take his grandson Tommy with him and he would always say; "Can't hunt rabbits till the first snow." Bob loved spending time with family; Holiday time was his favorite, with all the children and grandchildren coming home to spend the holidays with him. One of his fondest memories was giving his favorite granddaughter (aka) daughter away on her wedding day this past October. Bob would also have big birthday celebrations with the family. He will lovingly missed by all who knew him and will always be remembered as PaPa.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Stillwell Cemetery with Travis Egnor, Thomas Ashmore, William Ashmore Jr., Ronnie Morgan, Dillen Carlson, and Trysten Easter serving as Casket Bearers. Tylor Easter and Connor Ashmore serving as Honorary Casket Bearer. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday 28, 2016 in the Shipmans Funeral Home Chapel. Bob is survived by his brother, Charles Kenneth Morgan of Arizonia; sisters, Betty Lou (Morgan) Dillman of Indiana, Mary Frances (Morgan) Davis and husband Roger of Indiana, Henrietta (Morgan) Hemstra and husband Bill of Indiana; son, Ronnie Morgan of Pryor, Oklahoma; Granddaughter (aka) daughter, Julia Egnor and husband Travis of Pryor, Oklahoma, Valerie Morehead of California; grandsons, Thomas Ashmore and wife Shari of Littleaxe, Oklahoma, William Ashmore Jr. and wife Christie of Iowa, Ronnie Morgan Jr. of California; 15 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Morgan; parents, Albert Edison and Clara Arietta Morgan; son, Jonny Morgan; daughters, Rose Mary Ruth Houston-Morgan, Julia Arietta Morgan; brothers, Alfred Junior Morgan, Darrell Wayne Morgan; sister, Rose Mary Morgan; granddaughter, Lois Snow, Jamie Houston; great grandson, J.J. Canada.
