Robert William Purvis, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Pryor, at the age of 32. Born on October 12, 1991, Robert came into the world with a charming smile that reflected his fun-loving and easy-going spirit. He attended Pryor Public Schools and later graduated from Claremore Public Schools in 2009. Robert was a passionate sport enthusiast who brought joy to everyone around him. He played for the Pryor football team, showcasing his talent and dedication on the field. His heart, however, belonged to his beloved OU Sooners football and Giants Football. He loved life's simple pleasures and delighted in big bowls of Reece's cereal and also enjoyed eating bacon. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was walking his faithful dog or playing enthusiastically with his many nieces and nephews, bringing laughter and happiness to their lives. Robert's spirit resonated through his love for video games and movies, creating cherished memories not only for himself but for all who shared those moments with him. His infectious laughter and gentle nature impacted everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember Robert as a bright light whose memory will forever bring warmth to our hearts. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his father, David I. Green, Jr. and wife Lyla of Pryor, Oklahoma; mother, Stephanie Purvis of New York; brothers, Desona Parker of Pryor, Oklahoma, David Bates of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jamel Bates of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Lavander Weston of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Athena Womack and husband Tay of New York, Lakieta Parker of New York, Malaika Purvis of New York, and Tiona Parker of New York; 19 nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
