Roger Bowman

Roger Lee Bowman, 72, of Adair, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Adair, Oklahoma. He was born on October 22, 1940 in Chelsea, the son of Gerald Bowman and Verda Hemphill. He graduated from the Chelsea High School and soon after joined the Air Force. Roger married Deborah Brewer in Miami on November 24, 1969. He worked as a Postal Worker most of his life. Roger was very family oriented and loved spending time with those close to him. Roger enjoyed to go fishing, travel and woodworking. He also loved to look at antiques. Roger will be remembered for all the wonderful memories he leaves behind and will be missed who all who knew and loved him. Services for Roger will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013 in the Adair First Baptist Church in Adair, Oklahoma with Reverend Dan Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the Adair Cemetery with Roy Bowman, Terry Bowman, Rick Parks, Todd Rue, Pete Bowman, Greg Bowman and Tony Bowman serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Eric Fritts, Floyd Langley, Norman Sager, Jared Moore, and James Beesley. Roger is survived by his wife, Deborah, of the home; one daughter, Sherry Irons of Adair, Oklahoma; two sons, Tim and wife Luann Bowman of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Mike and wife Maria of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Donald and wife Vernetta of Chelsea, Oklahoma; four sisters, Anna and husband Eugene Parks of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Sue and husband Dave Hardage of Missouri, Trish and husband Jerry Spangler of Claremore, Oklahoma and Pam Rue of Claremore, Oklahoma; one sister - in - law, Rosalee and husband Dave Fritts of Grove, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and 6 step-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Verda Bowman; two daughters, Lori Bowman and Starla Tole; two sons, Wesley Bowman and Steve Bowman; one son - in - law, Buddy Irons, and three brothers, Gerald Wayne Bowman, Bill Bowman, and Gary Bowman.
