Roger Jenkins

Roger Byron Jenkins, 49, of Salina, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on March 10, 1967 in Muskogee, Oklahoma; the son of Roger Jenkins, Sr. and Doris (Camden) Jenkins. Roger faithfully served his country in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged began working as a mechanic. Roger loved working on cars and building model cars. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was fishing and traveling. He looked forward to watching Nascar and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. When Nascar wasn't on, he always would enjoy watching Survivor and the Amazing Race. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the Blue Springs Church in Salina with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Grass Cemetery with Dalton Perry, Anthony Proctor, Mark Proctor, Calvin Pickup, Bruce Pickup, and Roger Garrett serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Roger is survived by his wife, Kendra Jenkins of the home; daughters, Stacy Backwater of Kenwood, Oklahoma and Mary Jenkins of Victoria, Texas; sister, Audrey Driskell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doris an Rogers Jenkins, brother, Eugene Camden, step father, Aubrey Camden, and brother, Matthew Jenkins.
