Rosa Jackson

Rosa Lee Jackson, 86, of Pryor, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at her daughter’s home. She was born on June 4, 1934 in Adair, Oklahoma; the daughter of Jon Alexander Miller and Iva (Templeton) Miller. Rosa married the love of her life, Leon Jackson, on March 8, 1952 and they spent 48 wonderful years together before his passing in 2000. She was a long-term resident of Adair, Oklahoma. Rosa was a member of Pleasant Hope and enjoyed attending services there. Rosa loved cooking for her family, especially her fried chicken and pies. In her pastime, she enjoyed reading western novels. To all her neighbors and friends, she was Aunt Rosie. She will be so dearly missed by all her family and friends.

A memorial service for Rosa will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m., at Pleasant Hope Church with Reverend Eddy Bob Matthews officiating. Rosa is survived by her sons, Brian Jackson of Chouteau and Justin Jackson and wife Kelli of Norman; daughters, Shirley Verby of Pryor and Cheryl Troyer of Adair; sister, Betty Willhite of Oolagah; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jon and Iva; husband, Leon; 3 sisters; 4 brothers; and a great granddaughter.
