Rosie Chewie, 57, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on February 17, 1957 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the daughter of Marie Ann Proctor. Rose loved to make Native American baskets and blankets. She enjoyed watching WWE, and especially her favorite wrestler, The Rock. Rosie also enjoyed spending time outdoors and to go fishing. She looked forward to family time, and cherished each moment she had with her children. She was a caring and loving mother to her sons. Rosie also had a special place in her heart for her dachshund, Nelson. She was a sweet, loving woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Steeley Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Soldier officiating. Interment will be in the Steeley Cemetery with William Chewie, Jonathan Chewie, Whiskey Winkelman, Roy Bates, Michael Robbins, and Nicholas Sharp serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Rosie is survived by her 3 sons, William Chewie of Pryor, Oklahoma, Michael Robbins of Salina, Oklahoma and Jonathan and wife Kristina Chewie of Pryor, Oklahoma; mother, Marie Proctor of Kenwood, Oklahoma ; and grandchild, Jamie Chewie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Chewie, her father, and grandparents, Thomas and Kate Proctor.
