Ruby Haley

Ruby Irene (Pilant) Haley, 74, of Chouteau, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 in Chouteau. She was born on January 26, 1941 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma; the daughter of Elmer and Polly (Howell) Pilant. Ruby was a resident of Mayes County for 17 years, coming from Tulsa. She worked as an auditing secretary for many years for Sears Roebuck & Company. Ruby was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She loved children and taught children's Sunday school, worked in the nursery and always looked forward to Vacation Bible School. She spent many hours as a volunteer secretary in the church office. Ruby was kind and loving and left an imprint on the lives of those who knew her. Her family will remember her gentle spirit and giving heart. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Ruby is survived by her husband Ron of the home; brothers, James Leon Pilant and wife, Sharon of Salina, Oklahoma, Bob Pilant and wife Sue of Independence, Missouri, Richard Pilant, and wife Kathy of Artesia, New Mexico, Jerold Pilant and wife Linda of Pryor, Oklahoma; sisters, Velma Echols of Denver, Colorado, Wanda Milligan and husband Roland of Shell knob, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Polly Pilant, 2 brothers, Harold and Billy Pilant; and 2 sisters, Velda Dennis and Lavaughn Driscoll.
