Sally June Calvert, 80, of Adair, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her home in Adair. She was born on August 6, 1936 in Adair; the daughter of Lloyd Nelson and Margaret (Beatle) Nelson. Sally graduated in the Adair class of 1954 and went on to marry the love of her life, Gary Calvert on August 21, 1954 in Adair. She enjoyed going to the lake, going out on the pontoon boat and fishing. She also liked to watch horse races, going to the casino's to play the slots and to watch television, shows, most recently, she looked forward to watching westerns. Sally was a member of the Adair Methodist Church, and enjoyed attending services there. She would always look forward to spending time with her grandchildren and spending time with those who she loved most. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Adair Cemetery with Kyle Calvert, Karson Calvert, Caleb Calvert, Matthew Calvert, Chad Calvert, and Gray Wolf Calvert serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 in the Shipman's Chapel. Sally is survived by her husband, Gary Calvert of the home; sons, Gary Calvert, Jr., and wife Robin of Ketchum, Oklahoma, Gregory Calvert and wife Mary Jane of Langley, Oklahoma, and Lloyd Calvert and Vickie of Coweta, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Margaret Nelson, and her grandson, Mitchell Calvert.
