Shawn Morgan

Shawn Elwood Morgan, 54, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on February 2, 1962 in La Mesa, California; the son of Montey and Sharon (Dixon) Morgan. He married Pamela on February 10, 1980 in Council Grove, Kansas. Shawn worked for Rae Corporation as a handy man and assembler. At work, he was given the nickname "The Tinker". Shawn was also a volunteer firefighter at White horn Cove for 5 years. He enjoyed fishing, inventing and was an entrepreneur. Above all, Shawn enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren; they were the light of his life. He leaves behind many great memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Doctor Mike Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Chouteau West Cemetery with Floyd Bristol, James Clark, Sr., James Clark, Jr., Michael Bristol, Matt Minard, and Larry Morgan serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Shawn is survived by his wife, Pamela Morgan of the home; daughters, Katrina Morgan and James Clark of Pryor, Oklahoma and Katrisha and husband Floyd Bristol of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, Donny Dixon of Neodesha, Kansas, Tommy Morgan of Junction City, Kansas, Larry and wife Gisela Morgan of Junction City, Kansas and David (Blaine) Morgan of Junction City, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Montey Morgan and his grandparents.
