Shawn Edward Sluder, 38, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on September 19, 1978 in Joplin, Missouri; the son of Don Sluder and Judy (Mullins) Sluder. Shawn graduated from Pryor High School. He worked for Sygma and Locke Supply for most of his life, and was recently the delivery driver for Pete's Drive In. Shawn loved the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and going to the creek. He also looked forward to watching football, and was the # 1 fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Above all, Shawn had a special love for his daughter, Kiersten. Shawn and Kiersten did everything together, from school activities to cheerleading. Shawn loved life, and enjoyed being around those he cared most for. He leaves behind so many wonderful memories for his friends and family to always cherish.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor with Reverend Junior Mullin officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Luke Smoke, Mickey Smoke, Danny Alton, Noah Wilson, David Moore, Jay Martin, Ryan McClellan, and Dustin Mathis serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Shawn is survived by his daughter, Kiersten Sluder of the home; father, Don Sluder and wife, Patricia of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; brothers, Jonathan Osborn and wife Lesli of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Jimmy Asamakis of Pryor, Oklahoma and Roger George of Coffeyville, Kansas; sisters, Shannon Smoke and husband Luke or Pryor, Oklahoma, Clarissa Harrison of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Shelly Bethel of Joplin, Missouri, Jennifer Edison and husband Chris of Pryor, Oklahoma, Tina George of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Michelle Touchtone of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Sluder, and brother, Donnie George.
