Shelby Houston Sitsler, 26, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Collinsville. He was born on August 28, 1991 in Prineville, Oregon; the son of Terry Lynn Sitsler and Beverly McCarty. Shelby was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Pryor Schools. He enjoyed going to the horse races, playing pool, throwing darts. He also looked forward to going coon hunting with his grandpa and spending time with his friends and family. Shelby had a good heart and never met a stranger. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Crossroads Assembly of God in Chouteau, Oklahoma with Reverend Jess Stipes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Cody Sitsler, Jeremiah Sitsler, Troy Barrett, Junior Vasquez, Kevin Buff, Joe David serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Shelby is survived by his father, Terry Sitsler of Pryor, Oklahoma; mother, Beverly (Thompson) McCarty and husband Jay of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, Cody Sitsler of Vinita, Oklahoma and Jeremiah Sitsler and Becky Griffin of Pryor, Oklahoma; sisters, Cami Sitsler of Salina, Oklahoma and Sasha Sitsler and Daniel Torres of Claremore, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents, Virgil Sitsler and wife Teresa of Pryor, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Flora Thompson, and his paternal grandmother, Hazel Jenkins.
